ASLO（先進陸水海洋学会）Aquatic Sciences MeetingのSpecial Sessionの募集

2012年7月8日～13日に滋賀県大津市琵琶湖で開催されるASLO（先進陸水海洋学会）
Aquatic Sciences Meetingに関して、Special Session の募集が行われています。
締め切りは9月30日です。なお、Special Session の公募終了後、講演発表の募集が
開始されます。

Dear all:

In July of 2012, ASLO will convene its summer meeting on the shores of
ancient Lake Biwa in Otsu, Japan, and we invite you to participate.
Lake Biwa is the largest lake in Japan and a beautiful location for an
ASLO meeting.

The theme, Voyages of Discovery, will be an historic event for ASLO
and aquatic scientists from around the world. Meeting for the first
time in Asia, those who take part in this meeting will strengthen and
form collaborations between East and West. This will be an opportunity
to share new knowledge, insights, and discoveries about the world's
lakes, rivers and oceans, and to address the many challenges that
these ecosystems are now facing. We, therefore, welcome proposals for
special sessions on topics that are relevant to both freshwater and
marine systems or that examine the interactions among them. In
addition, we encourage topics that address environmental issues on
ocean or freshwater systems at global and local scales, advances in
innovative technologies for aquatic research, and biological,
biogeochemical and evolutionary aspects relevant to community and
ecosystem structure and processes.

Special session proposals on all relevant topics are welcome and are
due 30 September 2011. Proposals should be submitted using the on line
form available at http://www.aslo.org/forms/japan2012.html

Plenary speakers confirmed for this meeting include Minhan Dai, Nancy
Grimm, Nelson Hairston, Julie LaRoche, Carolyn Oldham, Isabel Reche,
George Sugihara and Tamaki Ura. The The call for abstracts will be
issued later in Fall 2011, and abstract submissions will be due in
February 2012.
